Vision: The Social Sector Internship Programme envisions creating a positive impact on the social development sector in the country by facilitating internship opportunities for socially committed students from esteemed higher educational institutions in reputed NGOs across the country. The cutting-edge skill sets of the students and the ground-level experience of NGOs will be mutually beneficial learning for both the spectrum.
Tentative Action Plan: The programme begins by identifying, connecting, and partnering with reputed Social Development Sector NGOs to engage college students as interns. In the pilot stage, students from IIT Madras who are passionate about the social sector shall be selected. The Foundation shall provide a stipend for the internship. The internship certificate shall be jointly issued by the Foundation and the concerned NGO. Based on the feedback received by the NGOs and Interns and resource capabilities, review the programme and scale up if feasible
